My cat knocked over one of those glass air freshners, the gel side down. The gel has now stuck to the wood and I can't remove it, it has also changed the colour of the wood. Any tips? apart from getting rid of the cat

a steam machine, you can also get scratch and stain pens that are pretty good at diy stores.

Wonder if the same trick that removes wax would work - sure it cannot harm!
Place a piece of brown parcel paper over it,
Then a further 2 layers of newspaper,
Then touch a hot iron to it a couple of times and see if it comes out.
Maybe the wood can be re-stained?

You could try vinegar, but you will have to re-stain the area of the table to regain its old colour. If it is an expensive table get a professional to look at it

TRY A HOT IRON OVER SOME BROWN PAPER .BE CAREFUL NOT TOO BURN IT THOUGH
