yep if u r 18/35 it's good and especially for first trips...

i went last year...and go end of july and during august for peak season...travel light(bloody gypsies in italy)... (-:

on the first trip let the travel agent do it all for u...u really should go by yourself cos u'll experience more and have to talk to locals more etc...and it's an experience...be prepared for more people, just expect it and u'll be fine(695 million vs our 20.1 million in almost the same space) recomm a 17/25 day or so tour from london and ending up in greece...then try stay in greece etc on the islands...

depends wot u like...had friends that had money and travelled to byelorussia and russia and were scared but loved it...and froze in scandanavia but still loved it...depends on finances...

advice...no travellers cheques-just take your atm card with the cyrus symbol on the back and it works everywhere...i was in ten countries...take a mobile with international roaming...sms everyone-it's like they r just aroung the corner...and save your shopping for athens...around massive sales time in august...and away from touristy areas...be organised and u'll be fine...and...everyone loves australians...have fun

Contiki is just an organised tour. You have to make your own arrangements to get to where the tour leaves from. Most of the european tours leave from central london.
Basically you will be on a coach with a tour guide, other travellers, and have accomodation and everything else organised for you. Good option if you don't mind having to stick to the groups timetale, as ou can't decide to stay in one place longer if you like it. If you're more independant just buy an interrail pass or a busabout pass so you can go where you want when you want.

Just go. It's a lot of fun. Timetables are set regarding how many days in each location, but once there you can decide what you want to do ... I have a great time ..
