I've ordered two computers - one laptop for myself and one desktop as a gift. Standard shipping on both. Laptop took 4 days to arrive. Desktop took 3 days. Ordered the laptop late in the day, probably didn't ship out until the following day. Desktop was ordered early a.m., most likely shipped out that afternoon. Maybe I was just lucky. If you order, I'd suggest doing it by phone, not online. You can ask the customer service rep more questions and maybe get a better deal. For example, the laptop may come with a one year subscription to Norton included in the price. You might be able to negotiate the final price by having them remove the Norton (maybe you're using a free AVG or a transferrable McAfee) and the cost of the Norton could be applied to an extended warranty, or larger RAM, for example. Pricing will be very competitive this time of year and Dell probably doesn't want to lose a sale. A lot of people say Dell computers are inferior products with lots of problems. My laptop has been running just about 24/7 for more than a year, no problems. Only thing extra I'd suggest is a laptop cooling fan.

I ordered a Dell Studio 15 laptop in pink about 2 months ago. I was really mad when it said it would be over a month, but it only took about a week to ship and two days to get here, so it should get there really quick depending on what you got on it, some features may make it take longer to get there, but I am nothing but Satisfied with my new computer and Dell's costumer service and fast shipping.

Dell is pretty accurate on the estimated shipping dates. When you make your selection, the shipping date is displayed. If you select some options, the date is adjusted based on the availability of those items.

think about this decision VERY CAREFULLY...initial price isnt everything and the service is positvely horrible. you shoul expect the laptop in about a ten days depedning on whether you paid for rush service but, again, think about it carefully and read the reviews on service. good luck.
