Rinse the affected area with salt water or don’t rinse it at all. Do not rinse the involved area of skin with fresh water, because it will further activate nematocysts and worsen the reaction.
Using protective gloves or forceps, remove any tentacles still in contact with the skin.
Apply acetic acid 5% (white vinegar). This will inactivate undischarged nematocysts and the toxin and will help to decrease symptoms.
Use over-the-counter pain medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) to control pain symptoms. Immobilize the area that was poisoned to prevent further spread. For example, if a foot was stung, encourage the victim to keep the area still with as little movement as possible.

I've been stung before. Hurts pretty bad. So For the first few minutes I Scream. LOL Then put some meat tenderizer on it. It does take away the sting and some of the redness and swelling will go down. Sound strang I know. I heard the thing about urine too. I heard of vingar but I hear thats good for a bee sting. It will even draw the stinger out if it's still in the sting.

you might think this is gross or weird or whatever...but we used to spend months at the beach in the summers when i was little!! my mom would put meat tenderizer on it..u know the salt that comes in lil bottles? bc it never failed that me or one of my other two sisters would get stung at some point in time! that would take the immediate sting out..and after a lil while..we'd be back playin...that nite she would give us ibuprofen or some kind of OTC pain reliever to help with swelling!! hope u find something that works for u!

Vinegar or Windex. if you have really acidic urine, it might help, but it's doubtful. Use a white or distilled vinegar or regular off the shelf Windex

vinegar should be put immediately over it, it neutralizes the acidity.
