Nah, the whole point of one of them trees is that you don't have to decorate them. They're decorated on the website just because the companies are trying to sell them off. However, it would be good if everything was sold the way it looks in mags and on the internet - you'd get all them hot girls when you buy a car!

I had a fiber optic tree and since it already had the lights and I didn't want to take away from them I only used bulbs and some other ornaments that were special to me..I didn't use garland or any of that, but I think you should decorate it the way you want it..If you like it then it will be perfect..HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

You can decorate them as they is not hot or moving parts in the top, the light comes up from the base. They can look nice with a few baubles to reflect the light around more, but not OTT

Oh my- don't be so deferential to what you suppose to be the 'general gaze'! In what sense are you 'supposed' to do anything with your tree? Who is in a position to issue you with a penalty ticket if you hang your tree from the ceiling, or dangle miniature black puddings from its branches?
You are talking about something decorative for your own domestic use, so why would it matter to you what anyone else thinks, so long as you are content that the tree looks better one way rather than another?
I never cease to be amazed at how much pressure to conform we put on ourselves!
My answer to you, therefore, is to do what pleases you!!!

No!!! My gran tries to hang all the old fashioned decorations i.e. big lanterns on hers and wonders why they keep falling off...she took the first tree back to the shop for that reason.

I HAVE ONE AND ALWAYS DECORATE IT. JUST MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE DECORATIONS WELL ON THE BRANCH, SO THEY ARE NOT RESTING ON THE FIBRE OPTIC STRANDS, THEY LOOK A BIT DRAB WITHOUT ANYHTING ON THEM IN THE DAY LIGHT.
