One of my favorite things about Y!A is that we get the chance to interact with people from all over the world; people of all ages, from many different cultures.
People interest me, and I am always glad to hear new ideas and new points of view. How dull if we all simply sat around and agreed with one another all day long.
Some people here do have trouble finding a polite way to disagree. There are some people here who think it makes them look clever to bash Americans, or Muslims, and other groups. They apparently do not realize how ignorant and small-minded it makes them look.
When I ask a question, I read the answers for quality, information, originality and humor. I don't care who provides the answers, as long as they are helpful, interesting or amusing.
People who want to isolate themselves from other nationalities and other cultures really are pretty silly to be using the Internet, in my opinion :-)) The net brings us all together, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The only way I could see that mattering is if they asked a question that would seem specific to that country.. like, I don't know, which US city is better.. or something like that (I really don't have any better examples) But I think and feel that an answer is an answer, no matter who or where it comes from. That way, it opens up the questions to people that have different backgrounds, experiences, knowledge. Someone out there definitely knows more than me, and I'm not going to turn them away from answering me.

I guess it depends on what kind of questions you're asking or what answers you're seeking.
Sometimes, there are questions that are better understood and answered by people from my country, as people from other countries would not be familiar with local happenings, culture, etc.
However, if the question is a general question, which anybody with an expertise or understanding of the given subject can answer, I don't see why we should limit the answers to just those given by locals. Limiting answers just limits views, perspectives and possibilities.

I'm American and of corse this means that I am Brilliant and want only other Brilliant Americans to reply.... WTF?!?
The point of this section on yahoo is to get many different answers to one question. The diversity is suposed to be helpful in finding an answer that suits you. Who cares where the answer comes from.

Nationality doesn't matter to me at all....that's really rude, that story you just told! It's sad that people are still so narrow-minded these days.
For me, it seems to be the specific time of day that's the problem; right now is my favorite time of day, and in about two or three hours, that will all change....I don't really know why that is, but it's what I've observed.

no its not that. some people ask questions simply to get reaction and they are too small minded to see others point of view so naturally pick the answer they wanted to here in the first place. its called ignorance and it has nothing to do with nationality.

Not at all...I really don't even pay attention to the user's name...& I try not to be biased eacher...I give both side's opinions instead of being narrow minded...it's important to help people make decisions...not give them your opinion and thats it..
Though I have to admit..sometimes I do go to Yahoo India (yahoo india answers)...but that's only because I like answering questions that have to do with India, its culture, its holidays, ect.....Because I'm an Indian..
But thats about it...
Hope this was the kind of answer you were looking for =]

The nationality doesn`t matter to me at all. If someone would not like "foreigners" to be here, they will likely go and find some other place, because yahoo has not restricted this from using from where ever we are.
