I mean its my yahoo id not my real name. I thought that no one could have the same id on here. If so then why is it that they always say you cannot have that name because someone else has it? I mean the phantomswife and the number behind it. It cannot be a coincidence to have the same number and does that mean they can get into all my mail etc?

Go to www.whois.net
Enter the website address in the 'WHOIS Lookup' box.
That should tell you who owns the site and where they live.
What can you do about it ?
Is the content offensive or untruthful ?
First contact the owner of the site. Depends on the circumstances but you could just ask them to remove the information concerning yourself.
If that does not work, then go back to whois.net
The lookup will tell you who is hosting the website. There will be a contact email address there and you can use that to file a complaint.
Your final resort is to the courts. My advice is to keep things civil and business like. Explain your problem and say what you expect to be done. That should work. Like I said, court action should be a final resort but it is an option.

There isn't 1 of each of us in this world there are loads of people that are going to have the same name as you in the world so you may be getting mixed up with someone else, if it has a picture though and it looks pretty much like you then i'd be careful what you do on the computer.

If it is just your nickname, then there is not much you can do, but if it is your real ID then try a piece of software called NEOTRACE
www.neoworx.com
It is a tracker and allows you to find the service provider hosting the site name. You then ask them to intervene

Depends on the website, but my guess is that there's nothing you can do except go onto the site & explain to people you are being cloned.

have you ever googled your name .you will be surprised to learn just how many people there are with the same name as you... my daughters both have unusual names yet there are others with the same name in both their married name and their single name.

It might just be coincidence.. you both liked the same name or they copied your creativity.
