People are thinking that mainly because of the media. People have said that Iraq deaths have reached Vietnam's death toll, though they are dating the war in Iraq back to the first time we were over there in conjunction with now. We barely just claimed this as a war, so how can they compare it. I don't think we will ever see Iraq having the same death tolls as Vietnam. Vietnam was the bloodiest war we have had, and Iraq is nowhere near as bad.
The only other way that I can see Iraq being the new Vietnam, is that we went to help, and they don't all want it, so we are going to leave before what we went over there to do is accomplished.

There seems to be no end to the war in Iraq. Thus, Americans are feeling that it will be another disastrous war for them just like what happened in Vietnam.

Viet Nam:Total About 11,500 killed in 8 years.
So...let's all rethink this political shot at the war in calling it another VietNam shall we? How about we just call it the War in Iraq and not look foolish?
Only a certain faction wants to call this war another VietNam. Those who were there know better.

Far from it...This war aint s h i t compared to the war in 'Nam...
These guys think they've been to war. Vietnam was pure hell...but we still kicked some a s s!! ww1 and 2 was just as bad. This present war is a joke...
