I had the same problem with my periods. I wouldn't get them for 4 or 5 months and sometimes longer. My fiance and I tried to conceive for over 2 years. When we stopped trying and gave up hope I found out I was pregnant. When we decided to start trying for the second one because we had no clue how long it would take this time I had been reading and doing some research on the internet and found Ovulex. I started taking it about 3 weeks ago and started my period the very next day. I just found out I was pregnant again last night!

I'm not sure that failing to conceive after 2 months means that you don't ovulate. It just means that you were not successful after 2 months of trying. You are not truly infertile, requiring medical help until you've tried for 12 consecutive months (shorter if you're over the age of 35). Sometimes these things just take time.

If the blood tests from the doctor came back all clear, you probably do ovulate. The doctors can tell from the blood work if you aren't able to ovulate. They would have told you this fact.

Don't worry, though. If you truly do not ovulate, there is a prescription drug called Clomid, which causes women to ovulate. It's relatively inexpensive and very safe. You will take it during your period, and it works like a charm.

If your having financial problems and are under a lot of stress that will stop you from having periods and if your not having periods you won't ovulate. So once you have resolved your problems you need to de-stress and go and see your doctor. Tell him you have been trying for a baby for a while and had no luck and ask him about the medication you can go on. He can give you Provera to make you have a period and then on day 1 of your period you can take clomid which will hopefully make you ovulate.

It will take time to get your body working again if you have been having irregular or absent periods but it will all be worth it in the end and it can be sorted .

Good Luck

the average time you should allow yourself to conceive is 6 month a gp will not refer you to gyny until you have been trying for 8 to 12 months. There may be a unlying problem that needs to be identified by gyny. You may have pcos ( a condition were you do not ovulate and you eggs turn to cysts), i would advise you to go your your gp and ask him to refer you to gyny - he doesnt have to know exactly how long you been trying but at least you will then be the right hands of people that can help you when you are ready. The process of sorting things out can be long. I have been under gyny now for two years and only just had endometriosis removed. Ive been trying for baby for over two years and had 3 miscarriages so it can be a stressful emotional experience. Best of luck x

Hi, I do not know your age, but 2 months is very short time to judge the fertility. There is a fertility test that you can use cost about 70 pounds for both of you. I think if you have financial problem now, you better wait 1 year also, as child is for life remember. I think perhaps getting into pills should get your period routine because of the hormones. but you need to stop 3 month before you want to get pregnant.

hiya! cheapest method of working out if you are ovulating is by charting your basal body temperature and checking your cervical position and mucous. Your temperature goes up after you have released an egg, and you get clear, egg white type discharge when you are ovulating. It worked for me and i conceived after 6 months of trying with an irregular cycle.

I also bought some ovulation predictor kits off of ebay (similar to home pregnancy tests) which i bought in bulk and were quite cheap compared to others around. You use the tests over 5 days, the bolder/darker the line the closer you are to ovulation (these only work once you have established some form of cycle).

this might sound odd but i know can buy fertility tests on ebay for men and women if you wanted to test. Also if you want to track your cycle get an ovulation kit or chart your basal body temp each day this can help to show when you are most fertile. Most of these things can be expensive but i found them discount priced on ebay if you are not wanting to spend out too much.
Good luck, hope this helps xx

i hate to to repate what everyone else has already said, but it really does look like you have pcos, because of the irregualer periods i have pcos and mine periods are like that, did youe dr just do blood test for pcos ? because sometimes it doesnt show up, i know mine didnt, the best way to tell is if your dr books you in for a scan of your tummy so that way they would be able to see the cyists, there's also this pcos quiz that you could do to see if you have any of the other symptoms

http://www.pcosupport.org/support/quiz.php

if it does turn out you do have pcos there are lots of people out there who have gones on to have childeren either by clomid, met, or other forms of treatment and there's loads of info out there you could read.

if it's not that, are you underweight ? as i think that could make your periods become irregular, the best way of sorting this out is going to the dr's again and asking to see a gyno
as you really need to know what is happening,

No periods doesn't necessarily mean no ovulation. You can try the temperature method of checking for ovulation - go to a chemist and buy a fertility thermometer. It should have instructions.

Oh - and unfortunately, the harder you try to get pregnant, the harder it seems to be. Can you put it out of your mind? It would help.

my periods come & go as they please too butv I now have 2 beautiful children.
you might need your tubes looked at, can't remember exact medical term but it involves a dye being injected into them & then a scan to see if ther is a blockage. It is quick & painless and apparently even if there is a blockage, the dye can shift it and there is a good chance of conceiving afterwards.
You could also ask Dr for Clomid tablets.
