First of all, I highly doubt you would be able to find a certified vet. to remove a snakes teeth....I mean...wtf?

Second, removal of the teeth can cause a serious infection and could kill your burm.

Third, snakes teeth gradually fall out over time, but new teeth always grow to replace the old ones.

Fourth, a pretty long pair of tongs always helps from being too close to your snake during feeding times.

and Fifth, remember, you decided to get a Burmese Python...which is capable of growing over 20 feet long...it's not her fault, she's only reacting on her instincts. Please don't abuse your animal.

Getting bitten by a python may not be pleasant, but with a 6.5 ft snake, it's the least of your worries, even if you did succeed in removing all the teeth (and they have many), they would grow back, your snake couldn't eat, and it could still constrict and kill or harm your sister. A snake that is big enough to constrict a person, should never be handled without a strong, confident, snake comfortable person along to help if something goes wrong. A large snake should not be handled by a kid if there are not two snake knowledgeable adults there to help. No snake should ever be maimed for the convenience of the keeper. If you can't deal with the realities of keeping the animal, it is time to find a better home for it.

No, you cannot remove the teeth. It opens them up for infections as well as just being unnatural, if you can even find a vet willing. You need to get a pincher and lower the food in, move the snake to another tank for feedings, or place a partition in the tank when you place the food in and remove it as you close the tank. We also never reach into the tank to remove the snake for handling. Get a snake stick to remove it from the tank for handling.

Jeez no. Snakes teeth will grow back anyway, so it would be a waste of time. A snake that will grow to this size should always be fed with tongs from a young age so that they learn the difference between humans and food.

I certainly hope this question is a joke, but NO you most certainly cannot. For starters, it would be impossible for the snake to eat. "Holding the food" is vital to the swallowing process. They can't grip their food to work it down if they don't have teeth. Not to mention the fact that it is incredibly cruel.... If this snake is indeed a female it is going to get MUCH bigger, and proper care and handling takes a level of experience that it would appear you do not possess.

i dont think you will find a vet to this its cruel on the snake. maybe you dont need to hand feed her just drop the food in the tank and let nature take its course.i take it that you are still handling her without any problems, its just feeding times.if you do have a problem handling her them maybe its time you gave her up to someone who can handle her, this is hard i know but its for the best in the long run, or you can forget about handling her at all and let her live the rest of her days out in the tank, this way you would still have her to look at and know she is safe,
but please no teeth extractions

I think that falls into the cruelty to animals category and well it is cruel you would even ask that.

If you can not be a responsible owner maybe you should turn the snake over to authorities.

no, you cannot remove their teeth. They need them to swallow their food as well. Perhaps you should find a new home for the snake.

don't be stupid, the teeth are necessary to hold prey, any self-respecting vet would tell you no. If your in over your head, e-mail me and i'll make arrangements to have it shipped to me. i've got an 8 foot male.

I think that would be a very cruel thing to do.

Instead of feeding her food from your hand. Use tongs. That will solve the problem.
