Not really. I think I read a couple of years back that he wasn't bothered about making it in the US. In Canada I've heard five of his songs on various radio stations over the last six years, but they never seem to get any further than playing the lead single off his albums. Funny thing happened to me last year, I wanted the "Intensive care" album for Christmas and was in my local HMV - and we couldn't find any copies, so I'm persuming there's a few other fans in my area.

I would say 'make it' as is well known or chart success, then no. His big push for the American market came with his feel album. Which had a number of songs on it aimed at the American market, yet with such strong lines between different types of music, country, rock and soul, his mix of styles fell between all. He has appeared on shows such as David Letterman and been pushed to the hilt at times yet the Americans are either not getting the Robbie thing or need an Angels style anthem to hit the mark.

I don't think he did and probably didn't deserve to (as isn't that good).
But to be honest it is pretty much decided if you will make it or not in America before you go there. The charts are based on Airplay more than sales so they decide who will "make it". You have to go there with the attitude that you will do anything to suck up to the record companies or you will amount to nothing. Endless touring promotion and sucking up to people like you love them will get you everywhere in the USA. In Britain you could have a number 1 without stepping in the country if you have either a) talent or b) or novelty record.

needless to say!!! he's an excellent entertainer!!! I honestly have heard he will have 2 albums popping out interior the close to destiny...a swing album, & yet another one...i`m very hectic to take heed to them!!! i`ve been a robbie williams fan for 8 years now, & haven`t been upset by using any of his releases...certainly, I honestly have my favorites & desire some over others, yet customary i evaluate his physique of artwork to be particularly sturdy!!! it`s one in all those shame that the u.s. public have skipped over him, pondering what a experienced singer & songwriter he's...i assume maximum individuals desire the crap that passes for real music at present...yet i`m american & proud to assert i`m a robbie fan & probable will proceed to be one until the two the top of my days, or the top of his!!!

I don't know in the US but here in Europe (I'm in Italy) he's huge...he's got a single out every month and they all become great hits...personally I love his music...rudebox and lovelight are getting lots of airplay these days...I guess it's just that here in Europe we actually get to listen to music other than rap and hip hop which is all you get in the US and people still appreciate good pop and rock music

No. Americans may know the name from Rock DJ (I think was the name), 'cause they DID play that one on the radio, but overall, no. But it's okay - he's big enough across the pond so no sore feelings I'm sure.

No cos he's an arrogant **** and they've got much better singers over there rather than just performers.

Don't care, but he'd better stop making what he calls music soon. Can't do with him.
