We've been to Vancouver twice (from the UK) and would very much like to go back to watch the skating and downhill skiing in 2010. Can anyone tell me when the tickets for the Olympics will go on sale and how I'd get hold of them in the UK? Also, we stayed at the Pan Pacific last time which was truly fab - does anyone know how far in advance they (or any other good hotel) would allow us to book. I'm sure the demand will be massive so how do they manage it? Thanks for any help.

The official site says tickets are available in 2008 and to subscribe to the email list for updates. Think I will do that myself right now.

Don't forget. Downhill skiing will be at Whistler, a fair distance away from downtown. So you may want to coordinate tickets and hotels. (Like don't book skating in the morning and skiing in the afternoon. Or early morning skiing if you are staying at the pan pacific.)

Sorry, I haven't heard anything about when tickets might go on sale. Do you have a ticket bureau in the UK? They will likely have blocks of tickets for sale -- or at least be able to tell you when you can reserve tickets. As for the Pan Pacific -- why not simply pull up their website and ask them how far in advance they will take a reservation? You're right, the demand will be massive and there is already talk about registering people who are willing to do B&B just for the Olympics.
There's a new snowboarding event too, which should be fun to watch, along with the skating and skiing.
See you there!

humorous question. In seeing the inclusion of rugby sevens and golf for 2016 and 2020, both events have indicated to the IOC that they are going to re-set up their schedules. The PGA excursion will create a window for Olympic competition, and the IRB (rugby's body) has indicated they gained't carry a sevens international cup throughout Olympic years. a minimum of three favourite rugby countries have suggested they are going to launch gamers for the Olympics (for Northern Hemisphere countries, August is regularly their pre-season and the starting up of suits, at the same time as the massive Southern Hemisphere countries carry the Tri-countries (quickly to comprise Argentina). truly, Rogge specificially said the NHL liberating gamers for the Olympics as component to his comments. A "proper on proper" format...signal me up. We already have a WJC experience each and every year. in simple terms kind it so the golf equipment are not bearing the total cost and get some kind of dispensation ought to a participant be injured on Olympic responsibility.
