Hello there.
You are going to have a fantastic time at Disney, and you are absolutley right about The Magic Kingdom. It is by far the best choice for little ones, your 6 year old is exactly the right age to appreciate it.
To be honest, you could easily spend two days here and still not see everything. Compared to the other parks, it has by far the most rides and attractions for kids the age yours are.
Your little one is young and I just wanted to pre- warn you that when my daughter was that age we took her, even although she was a huge Disney fan she was terrified of the characters. I don't think she expected them to be quite so big and they overwhelmed her a little.
After a few days she got used to them and it all ended well, but I didn't expect her to be the way she was. There were lots of little kids like this.
By the time she was 6 though, when we went again she told me that that day at the Magic Kingdom had been the best day of her whole life!
Ok.. so rides.. Mickeys Toon-town fair has things for both your kids so thats worth a visit. Take the steam train from the entrance of the park so it's less of a walk for them and it will drop you off very close to toon-town. Mickey and Minnies houses are there and are just adorable.
It's a small world is lovely for all the family and lovely and cool when the weather is hot, it's also a nice way to recharge your batteries. Peter Pans flight is a must- sooo cute! but is getting popular so you might want to use fast pass.
My kids love Cinderellas Golden Carousel, its especially lovely at night when it's all lit up! And the little one will love The Adventures of Winnie The Pooh.
Snow White is quite a dark scary ride and your two year old might be frightened by this one so worth remembering.
Dumbo is always a favourite and worth going to, but again, it's popular and because so many young children ride it, it seems to take forever to load & unload on this one.
We were told that it was expensive to eat in the park- thats not the case, and I'd reccommend staying in the park for lunch and dinner- have at least one character dinner they are just brilliant and well worth the money- arrive early and stay late- make the most of your day and be sure to check what time Spectramagic/Electric Light parade is on in Magic Kingdom, it's just magical!
MGM is a good choice too- but theres not quite so much there as there is in Magic Kingdom for the little ones, it's much better suited to older kids and adults. Have you thought about Animal Kingdom perhaps instead?
That said, MGM is still worth a visit and although I'd say Animal Kingdom would probably be my choice instead of MGM if you've only got 2 days, my daughter, even at 2 loved the "The Great Movie Ride" ride and she insisted on riding that twice! Voyage of The Little Mermaid was good too- both kids should love that one, but it's popular so go early in the day and sit the wee one on your lap so she can see better (the stage is quite high up)
If they are Playhouse Disney Fans, theres a live show not too far from The Little Mermaid starring "Bear" and all his friends from Bear in the big blue house and again, arrive around 10-15 minutes early for the best seats.
Theres another show in MGM called "Muppet Vision 3D" it's really excellent, but I think that despite featuring the muppets, it can be scary for pre-schoolers. Might be best not to put the 3D glasses on your youngest for that ride.
Alternativley, why not combine MGM and The Animal Kingdom Park on your second day- Do Animal Kingdom earlier and MGM later on or vice-versa? Although bear in mind what time the parks close while checking to see if "Fantasmic" is on in the evening.
I don't know what kind of ticket you're thinking of buying, but this is not be possible on the 1 day 1 park kind of ticket.
I have to say that whenever we've gone, we have not found enough at MGM to keep us going for the whole day into the evening, so if you are on the 1 park 1 day type of ticket I would strongly suggest Animal Kingdom as being the better option for your family- and, it gives you a complete contrast to the Magic Kingdom.
Of course, just to confuse you even further, Epcot is really great too and depending on the park hours, if you want to get the best value for your 2 days, it may be the best option as it's open in the evening and there are some really great family attractions there.
Whatever you do, it will be wonderful, the kids faces will be a picture. Theres so much to see and do at all the parks and then theres also a huge Disney-Store at Disney Village which is well worth a visit.
BTW I would steer clear of the water parks, it's probably just too cool right now for the young ones. I also remember when my little one was 2, there was not a lot for her at all back then except the pool and you can do that in your hotel...
Have a fabulous time- I wish I was coming with you!

I would say Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom or Epcot. MGM dosn't have much for that age group theres not as many rides there and the ones that are there are mainly thrill rides. Magic Kingdom is perfect with its fantasy setting. I would suggest the rides in Fantasy Land for your children. At animal Kingdom there is a sense of adventure that kids love and attractions just for them. Epcot is more of an educational place, however there is a couple of things your kids may enjoy such as the inovation buildings. I hope this helps and I hope you have fun!!!

Well Magic Kingdom for sure. It's the best for young children. MGM is fun but I would recommend Animal Kingdom if the children like animals. Go to the disney website and research the parks you wish to visit and see which attractions would be best for your children. It's always helpful to have some knowledge before you go. WDW is an awesome place to go at any age. I hope you have a great time. And maybe consider a long trip next time. There is so much to see at Disney!

Magic Kingdom! Go early and around lunch time take the monorail to one of the hotels... eat lunch and relax. Christmas decorations should be up in the hotels, and it's nice to take a break from the crowds (give the little one a chance to take a snooze.)
After a rest, go back to Magic Kingdom, finish out the 1st day (stay to see the fireworks).
MGM doesn't really have lots to do for little ones... if you go to Animal Kingdom, go early while the animals are awake. During the middle of the day, they sleep (especially if it's a hot day.)
In the afternoon go back to Magic Kingdom and see what you missed, then hop over to EPCOT and see their evening fireworks!
Buy a Park Hoppers ticket!

Well, the Magic Kingdom is certainly a good choice. There are plenty of rides and shows that your children will enjoy at this park. Remember, it's a very large park so you'll likely be there all day unless the kids break down and you have to leave - make sure everyone's very well rested. Now, Disney-MGM Studios is a park often recommended as best for teenagers. There's a very small selection of rides - the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Star Tours, the Great Movie Ride, and the Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour. Three out of the five rides are considered "big thrills" and your children are much too small and young to be going on these particular rides. So, really, there's not going to be much for your children to do at the Disney-MGM Studios. There's two rides - and honestly, those two other rides are extremely boring for children - and a couple shows. Actually, Disney-MGM Studios is my least favorite of the Walt Disney World theme parks, and I am such a fan of everything Disney, but I can't stay there more than a couple hours before I run out of things to do and become bored out of my mind. If I were you I'd bring the kids to either Disney's Animal Kingdom Park or EPCOT. Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is a park that all children will love. There's a great selection of rides, a couple great shows, but the best part is the animals. The children will be amazed. On Kilimanjaro Safaris they'll actually feel as though they're riding a vehicle through the real African savannah. They'll get to see all sorts of exotic animals like lions, rhinoceros, elephants, hippopotomus, alligators, zebras, etc. You can see different animals throughout different areas of the park. At the Maharajah Jungle Trek they'll be able to see tigers, gorillas, and meerkats, etc. EPCOT, on the other hand, is very large. Technically, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is the largest, area-wise, but most of the land is savannah that is unseen by Guests, so EPCOT would be the next largest. It takes at least one day if not longer to complete the park because there's so much to see and do. There's an incredible selection of attractions, one of the most famous being Soarin', and there's the World Showcase with different countries from around the world where you can eat traditional food and watch performances like acrobats in China and belly dancers in Morocco.
Anyway, obivously, in the end it's you and your family's decision. Whatever you choose you'll have a great time, but I really do believe your children would like either of the two other parks more than Disney-MGM Studios. But since Disney-MGM Studios doesn't have much to do maybe you can go to two parks. For example, go to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park during the day because they usually close by 6:00 anyway, and then go to Disney-MGM Studios for the evening. That way you could have a great day of rides and entertainment at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and still see Fantasmic! at night. Fantasmic! is an amazing nighttime show featuring Sorcerer Mickey and villains from numerous Disney films. It's a great show, and one of the few reasons for me to go to Disney-MGM Studios.
Hope I could help! Have a great vacation!
The kids will have the time of their life and be begging to go back for longer!
Two days just isn't long enough. I could literally stay at Walt Disney World for a month and still not do everything there is to do on property.

I say Magic Kingdom one day and MGM and one of the water parks the other day. If you are coming from somewhere that is going to be getting cold soon and can't go swimming for a while, I would go to a water park during the day and MGM in late afternoon/night.

You already booked the better area. eating at Cinderella's fort. the subsequent end after breakfast is Mickey's toontown honest and head immediately for Mickey's usa abode. that is the position you receives to satisfy the large CHEESE!! and different characters like Tinker Bell & Fairies. The autograph e book suggestion is an fairly good idea. maximum characters do autograph and that is an fairly good memento. I nonetheless have my son's e book at the same time as he change into 6, 10 years in the past. Then head to Fantasyland. there's a lot to do, I advise getting Birnbaums reputable education guide to Walt Disney international. It has each and every of the information you want and better. i have used it fairly some cases for the time of my early journeys and that is an fairly good source. take advantage of the fastpass equipment. It lets you get a come decrease back time on a particular journey or attraction so that you'll be able to proceed to enjoys others. The wait time once you come back decrease back is critically decreased. I also advise getting the passport once you bypass to EPCOT. there is youngster exciting stops at each and every usa in international show off, they are going to stamp your passport and someone continuously writes some style of greeting of their community language. also a effective memento. do not bypass over the parades(both day and evening) and fireworks. best viewing spots for those are top on significant St. you're both going to love it. My in straight forward words suggestion is attempt to not in any respect to spend too a lot time on such issues because the bibbiddi bobbiddi boutique. There will be waiting and a hairdo is costly. might want to I advise fairly a accurate bun, they promote little tiaras with equipped in combs($6), positioned that on. also on the boutique fairly some the girls will sprinkle fairy dirt on you for loose as a gimmick. PLAN PLAN PLAN. 2 days sounds like sufficient, yet for a first timer, this park will be overwhelming and also you may want to actual spend an total day in 0.5 the park in straight forward words. have exciting!!!

I go next week with my 5 year old and my 2 year old daugthers! Is going to be our 7th year in a row (yes, i went there a lot with my wife when we did not have children), and 9th overall in the last 10 years.
For children, Magic Kingdom is the best option.
Toontown, as someone mencioned before is the best for them, So is the other atractions near Cinderella´s Castle, such as Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie Poh and the Phillarmonic Show, that one is simply great.
Dumbo´s flying adventure is nice, but a lot of lines and the children get boring in the process.
Mi big girl went crazy last year shooting aliens in Buzz Light Year, near Space Mountain.
For the other day, i recomend you to go to Universal Studios instead of MGM. They have a lot of children atractions, like Shrek 4D, a Barney Show that is simply great, and Animal Planet show with great animal performances and a roller coaster for children for the Woody Woddspecker. And is less crowded. If you can but a 2park 1 day ticket, you can go walking to Islands of Adventure, and there, go to Seuss land. It has a lot of atractions for kids, an some rides for you and your husband, like Hulk, Dragons Duel and Spiderman. all of those atractions have "child swap" so you can ride and your husband stay with your childs, and the, he take the ride and you stay with the babys. Is a great experience, do as I said and i´m sure you are not going to regret.

If your only going to be there for 2 days here are my suggestions:
Magic Kingdom is the first one I would go to plenty of visual and rides that really fit into that age group. (I like it to, and I am 40!)
Animal Kingdom has plenty to see in the areas of wildlife, and also has some really neat rides.
If you are staying in WDW or can get back after dark, go to Epcot and see there closing light and firework show, it really is amazing!
