From what I have seen if the vehicle is properly maintained the chances of having a break down that cost more than the warranty during the first 100k is about 1 in 10. That's not much help if you are the one though.
If you buy the Dodge warranty it will have to go back to the dealer to be repaired for any breakdown. If you are ok with that I would buy the dodge warranty over any other. However I like to have the choice of where I go so I bought the GMPP plan and have great coverage and can go anywhere.
You have to look at the kind of driving you do and the mileage you will be putting on the car. High mileage, mostly freeway driving is a lot easier on the car and problems do not show up that would on a car the does a lot of short trips or gets very low milege each year.
My rule of thumb for my customers is that if your mileage will not equal or be less than the warranty miles / time period don't buy it.
If you put that money into savings, even if you do it in monthly installments over the life of the car, you will have the cash for almost any breakdown if you need, or a nice nest egg if you don't have to use it.

Maybe it's me, but It sounds like the other posters may have misunderstood your question...
I purchased a Service Agreement with my new Dodge....I don't remember hoew much but it saved me a few bucks....My service agreement was calculated into my payments and covers all of my vehicles SERVICES (oil changes etc) has nothing to do with warranty, that is a separate issue.
Long story short Dodge in order to increase short term cashflow and to keep thier shops busy is offering you a deal in which you pre-pay all of your scheduled maitenence...

Extended Warranty's are hard to decide on because of cost VS uses...
If your buying a New Dodge it should have a 7 year 70K to a 7 year 100K warranty on it depending on the Car or Truck your buying... Double check I haven't bought one my self.
If your buying a used one???... Do the Car Fax 1st then ask the Service deptment for the Past Warranty history of the Car or truck in question. Its in their Warranty computer and they should give you any and all information you ask for.. They can also give you information on all Left over Warranty's and the time frames when they expire...
Ask questions about the Extended Warranty its self to the person selling it to you... What will it cover VS what the regular Warranty covers? Why should you buy it if the regular warranty covers it???
If you decide to buy it make sure its Dodge Extended Warranty and Not an off the wall extended warranty with Dodge posted on its information booklet...
Hope this helps...

Not on a new one, but sell it with 5,000 miles left on the warranty, so it's someone else's problem.
If you are buying a new car, find a Toyota, Honda, or Mazda that is close to the model you are looking at.
