Why do black people get offended when people refer to them as ni++er, when the vast majority of black people use the word on a daily basis? If black people don’t want to be called ni++er, stop using it all the time. I don’t think white people go around calling themselves cracker or Asian people calling themselves chinks.

Most black people do not use that word. You hear a few people say that & you group everyone in the category. Calling each other the "N" word is like when female friends call each other the "B" word. It's not a problem until someone outside of their circle tries to do it. Don't try to understand it. Just don't do it. The "N" is not offensive because of the actual word. It was because the person using that word could beat you, scream at you, disrespect you & accuse you of stuff you didn't do. And then they would call you that name while doing it. That's why when a black person hears that words, it triggers a defense mechanism.

Do you feel the need to use this racial slur or are you concerned about some blacks talking down to each other? If it is the former, feel free to use that word however you like--but be careful, there is a history connected to that word that incites anger in a lot of people--if it is the latter, maybe you should research and share the dark history of that word with anyone that is willing to make a positive change...

i don't understand you, so i will't be a a hundred% specific. Howeverrrrr, it does not inevitably mean which you're a racist, yet you're able to understand that it particularly is a distinctive way of existence that a has a undeniable historical past of soreness, conflict, and ultimately now plenty extra prosperity (even however there continues to be a large variety of racism and lack of understanding), so there are specific words--like that one--which you're able to have some appreciate for. bear in mind that that be conscious exchange into used by white human beings as an insulting and demeaning expression in the direction of black human beings. So, whether you're no longer a racist, you're able to attempt to no longer use it. purely: it particularly is theirs. do no longer say it just to look cool and don't you DARE say it to consult with them--it particularly is merely offensive.

I know this answer is going to piss people off , but they use the word because they have never gone through any thing hard in there life . Only thing they went through that was hard is there own choice , like being a drug dealer or gang banger . They are ignorant ! You will never hear a 50+ year old black person use that word , because they actually suffered from racism and lynching . Blacks now have it good they just dont realize that they dont have to be a stereotype any more , damn i live in a ghetto too , it was a white one , but i made good of my life , get over it homie !

Black people don't use the n-word. Cultural programmed misinformed people might think using said word would take the negative connotation from the word. In other words take the sting from the hatred pointed toward them. I chose not to use the word because I can call someone of my heritage by their name, friend, or a host of other words without giving the n-word any consideration.

You have no clue to what the vast majority of black people do. I don't think you really know what white and asian people call themselves. But, what I know for sure is you better be careful where and when you call a black person a n.i.g.g.e.r. You may find yourself in more than you bargain for.

That is true however, I am black and I don't go around calling anyone the "n" word. If someone, black or white, were to call me that, it would be offensive. Just because some blacks foolishly choose to use that word, do not think that most blacks find it acceptable, just the ignorant among us.

There is a difference between showing affection and actually meaning it. We in the land down under call our best mates the worst things, such as bas%^rd, P*&*k etc, but our friends know that's our way of communicating to each other but if some mug down the street starts calling you such and such, well you get the jist, so there is a difference in the way that it's being delivered, it's not meant to be derogatory.

I might be offended too, but only coz' it means "a poor southern farmer". It is actually hard to be a "rich" farmer, North or South, but if I had done all I could ,I would not care to be called "poor", even if I did not as much as others! I knew in my heart , I done the best I could!
