I mean to ask is it really better than the usual cable we get at homes.....also viewpoints on the cost factor are welcome.

As you told the cost is high now....If you wait for some time..the cost would be cheap as there is lot of players are coming to provide DTH. If the consumers of DTH increased automatically the cost would come down as in the case of Mobile (5 years before the cost of mobile and cost of calls were costly )

Over half the channels on regular Cable aren't worth watching anyway,so yes TATA SKY is worth it,and the reception is much better.

i don't know about tata sky but dish tv is great i have that at my home and the picture is great yes it is a superb investment
