You can create different footers within the same document in Word 2002. You first need to separate the sections of the document with a "section" break, go to "Insert">>Break>>and choose "Next Page".

Then go into your header & footer in the section where you want it to be a different footer (you can just double-click in the footer section), and unlink the "same as previous", and insert the footer you want.

You have to make three sections in your document, then control their numbering independently. Here's how: 1. Just before each section (let's call them None, Roman and Arabic), click the Insert->Break menu item and put a Next page section break. 2. In the second section (Roman), click the View->Header and Footer menu item. 3. Click the button on the Header and Footer toolbar that says "Same as Previous" when you hover the cursor over it. The "Same as Previous" should disappear from over the header also. 4. Do the same for the footer. 5. If you haven't already, insert a page number in the header or footer for this section. It will carry over to the next section, but we'll set the formats independently. 6. In the Roman section, click the Insert->Page Number menu item. 7. Click the Format button. 8. In the Number Format list box, select Roman Numerals. 9. Click the Start At button to skip counting the first (None) section. 10. Click OK. 11. Click CANCEL, not OK, to get out of the Page Numbers dialog box. 12. If you want the Arabic section to start counting at one also, go, continue here, otherwise, you're done. 13. In the third section, click the Insert->Page Number menu item again. 14. Click Format. 15. Click Start At to reset the counter. 16. Click OK. 17. Click CANCEL to get out of the Page Number dialog box. That should do it.

Guess you have to create them in a diferent section (sorry, DK how it's in the english version, since I've the spanish one).

Go to "Insert"=>"Jump" and insert a continuous section jump

That'll do it
