pen mightier than sword, an ancient truth. you can only kill with the blade. with my words i can inspire. bring you out of yourself, remake you. the beauty of words speak power. tears, laughter, sorrow, contemplation. all within my grasp. a gift I'm only just understanding. the power to touch hearts, comfort souls. a blessing to be used wisely. to soothe and amuse my goal. to open hearts to unknown possibilities. so close your eyes and follow my words. see them on the wind, come with me. travel to the pool of serenity. bathe in the calm, clear water. let my words wash your spirit clean. then come back to yourself, renewed. hold to that place in your soul. that pure, honest, innocence, deep inside. until the next time we journey within.

Its not merely the words that affect us but how its expressed.
Suppose your decides to go for a picnic. Everyone gets ready in their best outfit and you wear a simple dress. If your family members tell you "Son / Daughter, I think your blue dress would be the perfect match now", you will not be hurt but if they say " My God. You look ugly. Don't you know to dress properly. Look how your brother / sister has dressed.", then you are sure to get hurt.
So, why does it affect us. Well, here's the answer.
Your Dad hits you with a stick. You feel the pain and later when the pain goes you forget it.
Your brother slaps you. You feel the pain and later forget about it.
You dont dress well and you get the above comments. Everytime, you try to dress, your mind automatically brings up the conversation of your family members again and then, you feel hurt. This hurt, as I say friends, will never leave you until death. Experience such a thing and see for yourself.
So, you don't hurt others by words and then, they will not hurt you.
Let me tell you a small story. When I was in my University studying for my first degree, I has a bunch of friends, and one of them was shorter then the rest. And there was another who was a bit taller than us. The taller one usually hurt the shorter one.. Once he said, how are you going to marry cause if you marry, I think you have to stand in a stool for the honeymoon else you will not reach your wife's ?????? The shorter one always felt hurt but rather smiled at those remarks but inside he was really hurt. I too am of a sensitive type and so felt really sorry for the guy. Whenever the taller guy said something which hurt the shorter one, he would separate from us, go to a lonely place and start worrying. Then, me and my other friends had to console him but he never showed up he was hurt. However, the tall one never stop these comments even though we told him many times.
Once, the taller one, had activated the fire alarm in our university for fun and later it became a major problem cause everyone began to run out of the premises and there were so much of a commotion. Later, the Dean wanted to sack the responsible person from the university and issue him / her a criminal record if the culprit was found out.
The taller pleaded us, not to tell the Dean but the Dean was hard on this case and wanted to know who did it before the week ended. Knowing that the problem would become serious, the shorter one in our group, humbly accepted that he was responsible for the incident and he was sacked out of University and from his exams and also given a criminal record as well. Later, after two days we came to know of this and what did you suppose the tall guy did? He was so shocked that he was almost dead with sorrow. We together with him went to the shorter ones home and found him there. The taller one, pleaded, cried, and almost fell on his feet and still he felt sorry for himself. Promptly he took the shorter one, went to the Unversity Dean and related everything. The Dean could not believe this and felt really sorry for the shorter one and thereafter he, removed the criminal record and did not punish the taller one as well. And told us, Students. This one is your true friend. Never hurt him and from that day, the taller one and the shorter one were so friendly that they were like brothers.
Dear Friends, If you have read upto this, you should now be thinking how many people you may have hurt. If so, please do not hurt them with words like this.

Because words usually come from thought and to have those thoughts become a reality is a wake-up call.
As far as i know, most people detest wakeup calls.

Listen,
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
Or are you a reverse sociologist?
p.s. bring a sword to a pen fight!

It's "la" reve. Words...carry weight. They are what people remember most, usually if the accompanying actions of the person are not as weighty.
