It's original, and it kinda reminds me of Les Miserables.
It's a song about carrying on after the death of a loved one, and that no matter how painful the loss, to let the soul move on. It is about having strength to endure the grief and to have the courage to face the world with the loss. It sort of reminds me of Mardi Gras in New Orleans with the "weary widow marching on".

Well, on an interview on either Fuse TV or MTV 2 ( forgot which one), My Chemical Romance stated that the meaning behind The Black Parade was that death always follows you; as simple as that. In The video, if you havent noticed "Death" is, in fact, symbolized through the Black Parade which follows the person, until their last moment alive. The song is an original, but probably greatly influenced by the bands Queen, and The Who.

I really like this song and played it everyday for the last week at least
Looks like its got alot of things for people to cling on, death, loosing a parent, to me it sounds like a motivational song to push through even while death is all around and is following you, to not let fear of death or dieing to stop you from living your life just accept it, and if you really need too... go out and buy an emo outfit
very catchy song, gets a little gay at times but it all comes together in the end really well, i have no idea if its their original or and old song redone sounds very original and i'll be suprized if its not an oiginal
