Ah. The question of the decade which has been in debate by all doctors on the US medical board... You're going to get a lot of conflicting information on here, and you're going to get even MORE conflicting information from doctors. There's no real "right" answer to this one.

Some doctors will say that it's okay to have moderate amounts of caffeine while pregnant (not exceeding 300mg a day), and others will tell you to have none at all. Most will give you an amount in between.

From a personal standpoint, however, I drank coffee with my first, and he's more than okay. I wasn't drinking three pots a day, or anything, but I was having one cup of coffee and two cans of coke a day, and everything was okay.

The only way for you to know for sure, though, is to ask your doctor.

Doctors say you should cut back and only have 14oz (2 cups) a day! Decaffienated is best, but you should be fine! Just don't go overboard. I have a few cups of coffee every day and the dr. says everything is fine!! It's always better to play it safe though if you have any questions or concerns.

Yes it is safe to drink it, but like a lot of things ...in moderation honey!
Caffene is not good for you baby, so if you drink a lot of coffee or tea you should cut down to one or two a day, and stick with water, juice or milkshakes.
If you can go without coffee, then thats great!!

Enjoy your pregnancy

I agree with JENA and Ayesha.
The golden rule is "Don't do anything in excess"... This includes watching TV as well... specially avoid those programs which disturb your peace of mind... movies/serials involving murder mystries, bloodshed, torture, etc. Avoid CNN, BBC also... there is no good news now a days. The only good news is that you are pregnant... we are waiting for more good news after about 30 weeks.
All the best... Enjoy the feeling !!

My doctor told me to stop all caffeine after I found out I was preg. It is bad for you and the baby. It will make it difficult for you to sleep and can cause growth problems in the baby because caffiene affects growth in unborn babies.
