How to find the state of a mobile number

What do you mean by 'state'?
As far as I know, if you get a hissing kind of sound when you dial a mobile number, the SIM card has probably been removed.
If you want to know the state (or exact location) from which someone is calling you (and that person is using a mobile phone), I don't think you can find out their location (unless you're the service provider).

Sorry...I don't know the answer to your question but I know what you want to ask...so this answer is for telling other people what you means...he wants to ask that how by checking a mobile number we can find which state of india is he calling from or to which state of india does the mobile number belong to?

You cannot easily find out the states using the number.
Only if you already know some number, you may guess.
For eg. if the number is like +91 98860 12345 then you can say its a bangalore(Karnataka) Hutch number. so if you get call from any numbers starting like 988.... then you can guess that.
But no exact way to find the state.

Ten digits. There are dozens of possibilities for the first three. Google "California area code", or choose a city.
