Unplug the power cord from the back of the PC, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn on the PC, then turn off power save and hibernate.

You have to re-start your computer and after restart go to the desktop properties and select power options and select here time of sleep mode.

Don't unplug the PC! Especially if it's running Windows XP because it might not restart properly. Hold the on/off button for 5 seconds until it turns off, wait for 20 seconds and turn it on again.

if you do turn your p c off at the mains , do it for only 10 seconds , then restart p c , get the fan running asap
