This will sound flippant, but, really, you have to pee for two! Your fetus also needs waste expelled, and those wastes go through you. You need to have plenty of water to get rid of them. Most doctors recommend an absolute minimum of 2 quarts of water a day.

Nope, it's not just you. It's that little body inside of you, and the extra blood volume you will need. There are multiple medical reasons for this, from the blood volume standpoint, the body heat standpoint, the vitamin standpoint. Just drink what you want but don't get crazy and drink more than 1 1/2 gallons a day. You'll be fine. If you are really concerned about it, talk to your doc, but it is normal to be thirsty (I could make a joke about stocking up for all the peeing you are gonna do, but I won't!)

Yes, when you are preganant you actually use up more of your water supply. That's why most ob/gyns reccomend 10-14 glasses of water each day instead of 8.
Many women require more water than that, but it's best for baby if you stay well hydrated.
