Absolutely. I have a friend who does this sort of thing for a living. You'll need some tools to keep from losing a few fingers in the process:
1) thick gage rubber bands. You'll need to put these over his jaws to keep him from attacking you or anyone else when you aren't training them. Alligators have a lot of power when they bite down, but not much power at all when they open their mouths.
2) control sticks. These are rather long metal poles with loops on the ends of them. Animal control uses these to gain control of them without having to get too close.
3)The movie "Hannibal". Watch the parts where the European guys are training the wild boars to eat Hannibal Lechter. My friend trains Alligators in much the same way.

Alligators are not domesticated animals. The person above wrote their buddy does this - if they do, I hope it is somewhere legal like at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida.

I live with alligators. In this state you are not allowed to pet them, go near them, feed them, etc. When the tourist come ever summer we have to educate them that this is not a Disney attraction.

There have been many incidents - people thinking alligators are tame. In one community, a man went to put food in his bird feeder and an alligator came out of the lagoon and chomped on his arm - in want of the food. Turns out, he thought this was a "friendly" alligator - and had been it food for a while. This is a "NO NO." BIG TIME.

Alligators are far from sweet - and not at all like they are pictured in comics or cartoons. They are far from sluggish and have been clocked in at speeds over 45mph. They select their "victim" and have fun dragging that victim into the water -- taking their sweet time drowning the poor whatever. Then they make a type of cocoon and leave it in the water - so it "ripens." It isn't pleasant.

Alligators will attack when hungry and when provoked. It takes a true lover to be able to work with them - and keep from being eaten alive.

Reptiles are not known for their abilities to be trained. Alligators are very dangerous. Unlike pit bulls, which are kind and gentle animals. They don't go around chomping people up. Most of them are loyal and caring animals.

No, an alligator is a reptile, it is much more primitive than a pit-bull (mammal).

Not really, it would be easier if you chomped them up yourself.

No, you can't train them. They just do what they think they will. They don't bond with people and really, they don't make good pets.

If the gator poops in your house you'd better be careful about rubbing his nose in it.
