any behaviour can be addictive, you really have to see if it affects your regular day----if it stops you getting a job etc, falling out with family or inhibiting you in some way, then you have a problem, otherwise, no problem at all

The addiction depends on the person whether he is able to control the "desire" for that object... Although chatting is can be a little addictive, there's little harm to it... Only when harmful effects appear can you say you are addicted... Although people around you will be the ones who will tell you if you are addicted or not...

they could be I was told I was..... then came down one morning to find friend on my PC who said I was addicted to chat rooms had been on my PC for hours playing solitaire how sad is .... that .... so who knows ....me prefer real people everyone to their own ....
