We don't have to explain it. Most stars are multiple, some are not.
By good fortune, we have a single star system which means we can have a solar system and stable orbits. The tidal forces would have been too strong from a multiple star system for planets to form. The single star system also allows for moons around the planets. Without our moon we probably would not have life on Earth in the first place, among other things.

Sun is alsoa part of a multi-star system, the milkyway, there are millions of star in ths system, we jus feel sun to be alone cos all the stars of the system are very far away from each other like 10 or 20 lightyears.
the milkyway spans to around 100 lightyear in diameter so u can imagine y v feel tat sun is the not part of any multistar system.

Actually, most stars are single stars just like our sun. The majority of stars are red dwarfs, which most of them occur alone.

It's an accident of our Sun's birth----the original cloud of dust and gas happened to coalesce around one primary nucleus instead of multiple nuclei. I don't ( and astronomers don't) agree with "most stars..." statement.

Either it's because of what I said above, or maybe just a terrible case of stellar B.O.

Some say we actually WERE a twin star system but somehow, Jupiter didn't really made it and 'degraded' to a gassy planet
