I highly doubt it, seeing as homosexuals aren't sick. I think you'll find they have a done a study or two, that doesn't mean they've proved anything. It is wrong to try and fix people who don't need fixing.

Why would you want to find a cure? Yeah, for sure, sometimes homosexuality can be a burden with homophobia and not having the ability to have kids. However, that's the way I am... If that is it true, I could think of a lot worse "diseases to have" - cancer and cystic fibrosis for a start...
If we follow your thinking, we should use gene manipulation to make everyone intelligent and beautiful -0 why stop at just curing homosexuality?
We should stop trying to purse perfection in humans - sounds to much like Hitler's dreams... For sure, use gene therapy to cure life threatening diseases but beyond that it should be banned. Could you imagine a world with no faults...
Anyway, in some ways, my homosexuality determines who I am. For example, it teaches me not to judge others by appearances and to be tolerant to others (most of the time). After all we are a product of mistakes; mutations (mistakes) in the genes of an individual are the only source of new variability thus fuelling evolution.
Good question though, have a nice day!

Yes it is verye possible... phrehaps they can make the Y gene in males into an X gene, i'm not sure about the girls though... maybe they could lower the concentration of the X Gene within them...
It will eventually come since there was millions of homosexuals haters out there in the world...
However... you'll see the population of the world sudden increase a lot more... so in conclusion, leave the natural world the way it is... homosexuals are made for a reason - to stop the population from increasing too much

If you want a honest answer, you will need to know why a person is gay. There are several theories as to why a person is 'born' gay. The most prominent I have read is a work by Simon Le Vay. He determined - through autopsy - that gay men and straight men have one single difference: the size of their hypothalamus (a gland in the middle of your brain and well known to be the source of sexual stimulation in human beings). With gay men it is small and fluffy were as in straight men, it is solid and large. He repeated this experiment with lesbian and straight women and found the reverse. Straight women had small/fluffy gland were as lesbian has large/denser gland.
So hypothalamus size wise:
Gay men = Straight women
Lesbian women = Straight men
Following years of studies, he determined that this gland is developed before birth. When he examined pregnant mothers during period of pregnancy he found that this gland gets developed during the 6th month of pregnancy. If the mother body thinks she has a daughter, she would give Oestrogen (female hormone). If she thinks she has male son, she would give Testosterone (male hormone). For some un-explained reason, the mother would give the wrong hormone. Depending on how long this hormone is given, the child may come up as Bisexual, straight acting gay guy, camp gay guy, or in extreme cases transsexual (a person who believes he is in the wrong body!). What is more psychology research shows that only 4% of any population are totally gay and only 4% are totally straight. With majority of people 92% are somewhat bisexual from those who may just fancy same sex once in their life time to those who will have 50/50 interest in both cases. The norm is that we get a mix of these hormones before birth.
Research into how to determine why this switch happens has been blocked. From one side, the church and religious groups would not accept it (because this would mean centuries of prosecuting gay/lesbians was a crime but more importantly it is a serious shake to their belief). From the other side, gay groups have pressured government and other organisation not to proceed in such research because this would mean there is a way to eliminate gays from existence! Hospital scans can determine if a mother has son/daughter and a simple blood test can determine what hormone the mother is giving. The latest work as done by an Italian scientist two years ago who tried to determine if the mother had a genetic differences that results in this switch and managed to find some correlation in that most mothers with gay/lesbian children had actually gay/lesbian brothers and sisters!
I think you have to appreciate that anyone born as gay/lesbian/bisexual is going to be so for life. Once the hypothalamus is developed in a certain way, it is so for life! My research understanding is that the only way to stop so is to do so before birth and I have explained why people would not go down this route. I would really appreciate if you could email me the Russian research paper for me to read it as I have never came across it.
Regards,
Dr. FS

I'm not sure I trust Russian scientists after what happened to that Russian guy who got poisoned - in a VERY nasty way - lately. But if God made some people gay then how can this be perceived to be something which needs "curing". Isn't that the sort of line Hitler and other fascists have taken? As a straight guy I think - hey lots of (sometimes) good looking blokes more interested in men than women - hey more women for me! Hey presto; a good reason for encouraging gays to get on with it!! Think positive

Homosexuality is an aberration, not a disease. So there won't be a "cure."
There are other aberrations that won't be "cured" by gene therapy. Occasionally people are born with extra toes or fingers. Nothing will make them disappear, other than surgery. On rare occasions people are born with two different color eyes. Gene therapy won't change something that is already physically existing.

Since i do not believe Homsexuality is a disease I really dont think they need a cure, But i do think we need a cure for people think that its a disease or something to be ashamed of. come on please now look at the society we live in we are not back in the 50's and 60's people ahve the right to live how they want and not be judged for it or told they are "sick" as you put it. Whats next making everyone have blond hair or be in a concentration camp? ohh wait someone tried that too.

This is a very sensitive subject. Do you think many homosexuals see themselves as defective and would take the cure? That is a bigger question.
I thought the cure had already been found; acceptance.

Russian scientists, huh?
There's no proof genetics is involved. Not defective genes or any other kind of genes.
Homosexuality is a composition of environmental influences and subjective processing of those influences. It's a tendancy that's acted upon, much the same as hedonism or nymphomania.

Is it really that much of a problem? I'm sure that if enough gay people wanted to be "cured" there would be more research into finding one.
