I don't know, I once read an article about human parts that are now useless, but at one time they were useful. This article said that humans used to be able to control their ears similar to alot of animals, like cats for example, to distinguish more clearly the direction from which a sound came.

WELL DATS SIMPLE .. YOU KNOW DAT HUMANS EVOLVED FROM RUMINANT ANIMALS. IT IS THOSE ANIMALS WHO CAN CONTROL THEIR EAR MUSCLES [EAR PINNA]...But during the course of evolution we have lost the control over our ear muscles and it has turned vestigial...just like our appendix. SO we r not able to control our ear muscles like other organisms. But sometimes you must have noticed that their are people who can slightly move thier ear muscles. It is due to a phenomenon called ASTAVISM..sma thing that explains the appearance of a small tail at birth in some babies

Because as you might be aware that we are humans and do not depend on a strong hearing sense like animals do to run away from dangers . This function is only noticed with all land animals.

HI FRIEND!! ACCORDING TO ME WE DO NOT REQUIRES TO MOVE AND IT'S ALSO AN "VESTIGIAL ORGAN" AND OUR PINNA CAN COLLECT SOUND WAVES IN PROPER MANNER AND IN SUFFICIENT AMOUNT WHICH CAN BE PASSED TO PART OF MIDDLE EAR!!."BUT BUT BUT SOME PEOPLE CAN ALSO MOVE THE EAR MUSCLE!!"
