I've been a patient of his for over 10 years and have been picking up the same prescription every other 3 mo. with a doctors appt. in between. My insurance pays him $150. for the 15 min. med check appt. every 6 mo. Is this my doctor just being greedy or is this a normal practice that is just now reaching my part of the country?

Where is your part of the country? Which country? I'm in rural Australia. I've been going to the same clinic for 19 years. I've been charged from zero, to $5 and everything in between in that time. At the moment there's no extra charge, but who knows how long that will last!

That is absolutely outrageous. I would find out if he can do this, he accepts your insurance, correct. You need to contact your insurance Company and let them look into this., by accepting you medical insurance the Doctor agrees to abide by the policies and payment of the Insurance Company.
