It's a self-fulfilling means to an ends. Life is the process by which living things reproduce and create new life.

An existential question.
Life is a transitory phase in everyone's life. The body is a carrier. The real YOU is the soul. Life is an experiential phase because the soul needs to learn through its various forms in different settings across the time horizon (also known as rebirths). The soul will keep learning and keep being with the same souls in some form or the other that were with it in all the previous births. Some births will be consqeuential and some not. The beauty is that at the end of this rich journey (as per Hinduism, everyone has more than 100,000 births before the soul gets free/ nirvana. Some get it earlier but they have to be really good souls), the soul recognizes the eternal truth- that its LOVE that drives us. If you take out love, then there will be no life. Therefore the need to keep on loving and forgiving because the faster your soul recognizes this, the faster it's on the path to enlightenment and finally gets released when the time for you is over in this birth for you would have accomplished what you were sent out for.
So treat and look at life as not needing to feed the body, but to educate and enrich the soul. For that is the one that will remember and travel another 1000 years. And never forget the 2 secrets for enriching the soul- Love and Smile. No matter what...just have the faith and keep going...

Morphed photons. Light, or, energy appeared at the beginning of the Universe. Bundles of that energy formed called photons. Photons came together and formed particles called matter. Particles came together and formed families called atoms. Atoms came together and formed elements. Elements came together and formed compounds. Compounds came together and formed organic compounds. Organic compounds came together into lifeforms capable of consciousness and possessing senses. Human consciousness emits photons in the form of brainwaves. The brainwave that matches the average or mean wavelength of the Universe is compassion. The highest order of photons is compassion, that we know of so far.
