The Geoforce is your video card. If you are not comfortable in your systems hardware you should find someone to help.

In Windows XP, you can view the Control Panel in two different views: the Classic View, where the individual Control panel program icons are displayed; and the Category View, where links representing groups of related Control panel programs are shown. To switch from one view to the other, click the Switch to Classic View link (which appears when you're in Category View) or the Switch to Category View link (which appears when you're in Classic View) at the Control Panel navigation pane.

In the category view you should be able to update your drivers under the audio category, in the classic view select the system icon and find the device manager button. If any of your hardware has a "i" icon on it there is a problem that needs to be corrected.

The first link is about the control panel, the second link displays the two types of the control panel interface and the third is a link to Microsoft on the device manager. Hope they help.

Don't waste your time. Vista is about to be inflicted upon the world and XP is about to be old news.

When you are ready to buy a new system, go to www.stupidcheapcomputers.net. I buy all of my stuff from them, and everything is Vista ready.

Microsoft is about to release its latest operating system, Vista, in January. It’s going to make all of these “bargain” computers nothing but JUNK as soon as it’s released. The reason that you are seeing so many cheap systems on the market right now is because a lot of them CAN’T RUN Vista and the merchants are trying to dump them as hard and fast as they can before Vista shows up and everyone learns what a piece of crap they were sold for $500 (or whatever).

Anyway, I bought a complete, new system from stupidcheapcomputers.net with a warranty for LESS than it would cost me to build it myself or order a custom one from the manufacturer. You can use my frequent buyer code: ATX926. That will get an additional 10% discount at checkout.

I have NEVER had any problems with anything that they have sold me and their customer service is outstanding. Those guys blow my mind.

Good luck!
