The height of telling a lie is lying to yourself and believing that lie.

Many people see the world and themselves as they would like them to be, and not as they are.

Wishful thinking is one thing, but lying to yourself and others is counterproductive. Giving new acquaintances the impression that you're an upcoming actor or you're soon going to be closing on a million dollar deal can fool them for a time, but eventually they'll catch on to your delusions.

Believe in yourself, but do it realistically. No matter how hard the 350 pound man tries, he'll never be a jockey in the Kentucky Derby!
