What is more immoral?

Question

Terrorists who murder the innocent? Or overly (sexually) indulgent Westerners? And why?
I'm curious about opinions of others on this topic. (thanks!)

A powerful question.

"Overtly sexually indulgent Westeners" who are having and enjoying CONSENTUAL sex I do not see as a problem. I accept that some cultures and societies might have huge hangups, but I see it as neither immoral or moral - more amoral. My thoughts remain unchanged even if this involves prostitution. If however this involves an element of cohesion / rape then I find it highly immoral. For consentual sex, then I will refer to as Sex(1), for non-consentual sex, I will refer as sex(2)

Terrorism is a hard one to define if you are going to be impartial. UK and US families with loved ones in Iraq may view someone that blows up their son with a bomb as a terrorist. Yep the Iraqi mother perhaps views the UK/US soldier who guns down her son as a terrorist too.

My point here is that a terrorist is sometimes only a terrorist if he is not fighting on the same side as you. To make it possible to answer your question, I am going to refer to T(1) to indicate someone killing in a war with a fixed goal. and T(2) who is quite happy to slaughter civilians.

T(1) and Sex(1) are both amoral.
T(1) is amoral, Sex(2) is immoral - so forced sex is more immoral
T(2) is immoral, Sex(1) is amoral, so terrorism is more immoral
T(2) is immoral, Sex(2) is immoral. T(2) will do more harm to more people so again terrorism is more immoral.

I can see what your trying to do, arguee whether people who indulge in sexual activity and glutonous acts that are so representative of the west are actually worse than people who kill for the simple fact that terrorists have morals of a sense because they believe in something and many of the west do not have any religious morals.
I think what is imnporatnt to remember is that the terrorists may have religious views but no where in their religions does it say it is right to kill people at all, and althought Westerenrs may be overly sexually indulgent I dont think this is the same as killing people un neccessarily for a cause they are mis guided in,

I must assume that different people will have different opinion, but this questions still seems ridiculous to me.

If I am 'overly sexually' indulgent, then I am commiting acts with consenting adults.

If you are a terrorist you are killing innocent people of all ages, shapes and sizes; many whom might be 'better, moral' people than you. How can you EVER justify the killing of another human being.

Don't get the connection but terrorists who murder the innocent are the most immoral. That is not to say so called acts of terrorism against an occupying force, such as in France in WW2 or the A.N.C.'s fight against apartheid in Sth. Africa were immoral.

Having sex versus terrorists who murder....hmmm, that's a tuffy. Let me try to explain what I see as the difference.
How many people died the last time you had an orgasm? How many people die from terrorists bombs when they go off?
One bomb is the bomb of pleasure, highly immoral to some people. The other is the bomb of death. Killing innocent people is never acceptable. See the difference?

Ummm...duh! Terrorist that kill!!!!!
Sex is between the people participating in it and its consensual and not hurting anyone else. Killing is....well you get the point, NOTHING justifies taking a life!
