If you received a letter from Social Security Disability saying you have qualified for the medical part, but now must wait for the non medical
part to get SSD. Is the non medical part mean can I do another job or what ?? I am confused since I met the medical requirements?

You've qualified for the medical part, which means they have said that your disability is bad enough that you qualify for Social Security Disability.

Now, they're going to look at your employment history to make sure that you've worked long enough in jobs that paid into the Social Security system to qualify for benefits. Each year is split into 4 quarters, and if you earn enough money during that quarter, you earn a SS credit. You have to have a certain number of credits to qualify to SSDI, depending upon your age.

If they find that you do not have enough credits for SSDI, they will consider you for SSI. Since SSI is welfare (for those who haven't worked long enough to accumulate enough credits), they will look at your household income and your assets to determine if you get benefits.

If you've worked and have enough credits, you'll probably start getting benefits within a couple months.

I wouldn't go get a job right now, since you've qualified medically. After you start getting benefits, if you get SSDI, you can work and earn about $800 or so a month without losing your benefits. If you get SSI, you can't work and still get the benefits because it is welfare.

Good luck!
