Since you are afraid of spiders your boyfriend can be a gentleman and take the lights outside and give them a good dust with a feather duster of simply shake them. Spraying them is not such a good idea because all the chemicals will end up on your hands.
REmember to put the lights in a plastic bag when you take them down when holidays are over so that you avoid the same problem next yera.
Enjoy decorating.
Arent holidays wonderful? :)

take it outside and spray raid (the kind that says spiders on it) all over it....then leave it out for the night...the spiders will be gone next day...but if you dont have raid atm then still put it outside before they get all over the place...you can also bring it back to the tree lot for refund if you choose and buy elsewhere..

I would'nt spray my tree with PESTICIDE, THEN BRING IT IN THE HOUSE !, I'll take the spiders, I don't love them but, they are better than poisoning my interior environment with Pesticides, leave the tree outside for a few days, it will get cold, they'll be gone. Use your HEAD, don't be silly !

Looks like a egg sack hatched. Take the lights off and bring the tree outside and shake it like crazy.
I am really appalled at some of the people here screaming death and kill. What is this world coming to?

Take it outside and spray it. Let sit and make sure they are all gone before you take it back in the house. Happy Holidays.

aw...the poor spiders...
probably going to have to bug bomb it in a plastic bag then take it out and let it sit for a day before bringing it in the house.
