Tabula Rasa (meaning blank slate) is also a theory about the brain. Some people believe that we are born with certain character traits already imprinted on our brains - no matter what environment we grow up in, we will have these traits. However, the competing theroy, tabula rasa, states that the brain is a blank slate when we are born - we have no predetermined character traits and our personality will develop entirely as a result of our environment and experiences.

According to the web: In latin it could mean scraped tablet or clean slat. There is also Tabula Rasa school of foreign languages in Atlanta, Georgia which seems to be for both children and adults. In some ways the different web sites sounds contradictary but it is probably just the way i see it. Sorry i couldn't help more. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

It's latin = tabula (tablet), rasa= (blank); Romans used that expression to point out an absolute lack of information, culture, education or knowledge in a specific field.
