Ya man, get over to Best Buy, they had a deal for a 2 gig USB drive for 30 bucks! Or Staples, they have deals for 1 gig usb drives for 20 to 30 bucks all the time.
Check out your model from the makers website to find out what memory you need to upgrade your browser performance. Usually a 1 gig stick runs a 100 bucks. Sounds like that isn't your prob tho.
A hard drive with 60 gigs @ 5400 rpm is going to run around 80 bucks.
Stick with the usb option, have your brother buy it, make sure your protected with an anti-virus and against spy/spam ware. NOD is the best AV and I personally like Spy ware doctor for the other.
Watch what your bro downloads if you're not protected yet.
I feel for you, dial up is darn slow, but it is safer and keeps your brother from DLing too much pirated booty. :P
Good luck dude!!!

a 1 Gig flash drive will help, but the fact youre on dial-up well that is the biggest problem. a USB flash drive will keep the mp3 off of your hard drive, but I doubt disk space is your concern. As for getting more "memory" (know the difference between memory (RAM) or disk space (harddrive)) the only way to get more of that is to upgrade the RAM from the inside.
Get rid of dial-up thats your problem

You can comfortably store anything in the hard drive....! I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.
