What do the orders say? There would normally be a hearing scheduled. If not, you should schedule one and explain what happened. The basis for the temporary custody is gone.
But you should never let such an order go unanswered as it could come back to harm you later on. Having the temporary custody order dissolved will help you later if you need to argue that a future claim for custody is frivolous and harassing.

You need to look into this Custody stuff in your County/Area yourself. Bother them there. Make sure it was real. Alot of people these days have fake stuff, delievered by fake people,.. yadda yadda. And make sure there weren't any court dates that the wrong address was given so you didn't recieve anything in the mail.
I would expect Temporery custody to last longer then 3 weeks and for there to be a legal reason behind it.
Custody DOES NOT CANCEL just because they are with you,.. so like I said,.. start nagging by phone. Also some states/areas have sites on the web. So try searching for your County / State legal / criminal site and track down if any place online has things like Custody files online. Not every place does,.. but the number of areas and if they expand into state sites is increaseing atleast for other legal stuff. You will also want to check for yourself,.. you know your complete or nearly complete name incase you were supposed to get a Court order or appear in court or something. Some sites your Social Security Number can help.
People On Yahoo! aren't going to be able to see / lookup your case and your children and so on,.. and you shouldn't give any information to anyone on here so they can do this.

Yes they are temporary papers, however, they are the most recent papers on file, and therefore you need to record the children's custody status current for possible future custody issues with your ex. It is important that you keep records of both legal and physical custody of your children during times of differences with ex-spouses. Be the best parent you can be an maintain permanency and stability in their family environment. Also, make sure to tell your kids that you love them and the issues between dad and mom are not their fault.

Temporary Custody means until the court decides what to do , and what is best for the children, as far as he goes, your answer is yes that automatically cancels him out. But not through the courts, but through the hearts of his own children, someday (if he keeps this up) it will come back to haunt him. Maybe he's just scared too? and decided that they would be best off with you! sunnydays

No, as long as the legal system thinks he has custody than he does. You need to file for custody, explaining that he couldn't manage for what ever reason he gave them back and reverse the custody back to yourself. Right now, he could show up and take them and there is little you can do about it. So, I would suggest that you do this immediately, like tomorrow!!!!!!!

who every has the kids at the time before the first court appearance is the one with the temporary custody. Meaning when he brought them back to you, legally he basically gave it to you, but my advice would be to go back into court and let them know and they will put it on record in case?????But you should NT play with around with the back and forth thing separation is usually harder on the kids then the parents...good luck
