What about the "W" word...?? NO Italian likes it said at ANY time.

Therefore one can see the level of mutual self respect and regard the Black community holds itself to.

THAT is the "Culture of Black Failure in America" in action!

Listen to Bill Cosby and read Juan Williams new book "Enough"
and you'll understand what it really means to call each other as Blacks the "N" word.

But most Blacks don't read that much ...not Best Sellers anyway
even if it could change their lives!

What say you?

Most of the black people using the "N" word were not alive when it was OK to be openly prejudice against blacks. They never went through the things blacks did 50 years ago. Blacks aged 50 years & over despise the word, period. To younger blacks, it's just a slang word.

I say that it's pretty offensive to assume that most African American don't read much..or not best sellers anyway. I'm Caucasian and I read a ton! Both for school and for pleasure but the books I read aren't best sellers sometimes. Being a best seller doesn't mean that it is going to be a book I am going to enjoy.

If you aren't a part of that community then maybe you shouldn't be criticizing it. I'm pretty sure that they know what they mean and mean what they say. They're not ignorant or disrespectful of each other all the time.

Just because you don't understand something, especially something like another groups culture, doesn't mean that it's wrong.

It;s just like girls will sometimes call each other whore, *****, etc. but it's not meant in a literal way (at least all the time, just like with anything like that)

I just think that you shouldn't be so quick to judge what you don't know. And reading a best seller by two celebrities I think hardly paints a clear picture of what all Black Culture is.

I've always wondered at the phrase "black community?" Seeing as a 'community' is defined in various ways. Is there a 'white' community? Or, 'white' leaders? Or, 'Asian' leaders?
As people seem to think of people such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as leaders of the 'black' community. Even though a lot of us can think for ourselves.. so that we don't look up to (nor agree) with these 'leaders.'
Because I sure don't hear people commenting on those other 'communities' and their 'leaders.'

Your condescending tone and negative stereotypes aren't going to make them read it.. as if blacks don't read books nor even know what one looks like.

Not all black people care to be called the 'N' word by others like themselves or by people from other ethnicities. Have you spoken to *all* the black people of America? Have they *all* told you that they just *love** being called that?
You seem to lack knowledge in that area with your narrow-minded views of the "black community."

You and your generalizations about the "black community" irks me as much as someone who would just come right out and say the 'N' word.

OK...blacks use the word to create another meaning for it, to decrease the level of control whites have with it. Maybe it's not best to use it, but it's only used as a slang never in formal conversation. According to your comments you watch too much TV...stay away from stereotypes.

u are just envy... invent some word for ur race and said it, if u feel that frustrated... i know whites that don't like to read best sellers too..

e.g. I'm Mexican and i read a lot and best seller is not always a synonym of good book... guess u are just showing ur bad taste in literature!!!

you are in a foreign country there.
I am a wog my mates are wogs we call each other wog! Nothing wrong with that in Australia, its called addressing your mates in a relevant method. Blacks like to do the same, it keeps people inthe same family feeling protected. Its good to do, If you are white maybe you should call yourselves redneck......lol

Calm down. I'm sure no sane people like to be insulted. Its best if we all just learn to be a little respectful.

its is how it is directed
when it is said by us we don't intend on insulting each other
in this case we don't take it seriously
