Because she was cheating on him. The first time he let it go but the second time he broke it off and then broadcasted to the world that she was not a virgin and she'd been lying. She also had lied about not being a smoker and drinker. He told everything.

Justin Timberlake has often strongly hinted in interviews and in his Album, particularly "Cry me a river" that Britney cheated on him.
Though it's not surprising. They started dating while she was a good girl...then she matured, and wanted to start exploring more I'd imagine.

I read on the interview of JT in the rolling stones magazine. He said that she cheated on him. He said in the magazine that he has had his heart broken twice n both of them coz of the girl cheated on him.

i just wanna comment and thank those who answered above me. i always believed in my heart of hearts that britney was a little sl*t. she wanted to have her boobs done on her 16th birthday for cryin out loud!what does that say about her?...i was just looking for some confirmation that she really was this horny girl with a goody two shoes image, she was trying to be everyones darling then when she was that, she was trying to be everyones b*tch. i mean what kind of message does she wanna show all the little girls who look up to her. most of her videos show her in underwear/sluty clothes doing slutty things unbecoming of a person her age. now that she is older people don't really take her seriously because she was in a hurry to grow up and she is falling from every big "adult" decision she has made only to prove that she wasn't ready for a mature life.get me? to answer the question--she cheated on him! too bad for her coz justin is the one with the better image.
