Even during my sleep. For example, When the telephone rings, when someone calls me, when I drope something and those little things. I was always like that, but since i am pregnant I notice that I do it more. I just want to know if i am harming the baby. I am not stressed but very happy that I am pregnant. I had a miscarraige. ( Maybe that 's the reason) I don't know why i do so, get scared for anything. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS?
Thanks in advance

Hi there;

I did the same thing for the first trimester. It seemed to me that I was over-tuned into my surroundings to the point that anything made me jump. LOL During my second trimester just the opposite happened and I had to write things down and seemed to have a bad case of the absent-mindedness. The last trimester was a breeze except for the back aches. :)
Don't worry all will be fine.
:)

Yeah and my husband took great joy in scaring the crap out of me until i was about 6mnths.

There is nothing wrong with it, and no you aren't harming the baby, I'd have one screwed up 1month old right now if it did. It has something to do with the nervous system and the like.

I also had a miscarriage the first time I got preggo. I doubt that may be why you do it / why I did it. So don't worry everything is okay, and just remember to look for spiders and listen to make sure no one is sneaking up on you.

If it overly bothers you ask you obgyn about it by either calling his nurse, or asking at your next visit!

It's normal for your sense of self preservation to increase, and to become overly protective of you and your baby during pregnancy.
I developed a fear of heights which left after the baby was born, my driving habits also changed, and I became less of a risk taker in general.

Your jumpiness is a sense of protectiveness.
It's a sign that you will be a wonderful mother.

:o)
