I want to send someone in mexico a christmas card and i was wondering if anyone knows how long it would take to get there from the united states.

I have also thought about sending him a small package. Some people told me that it will never get to him if i do that....does anyone have any experience with that?

Thanks!

Letters take about 3 weeks ... packages are better sent by FedEx and take 3-5 days

I live in the state of Veracruz in Mexico. iI takes 5 to 6 weeks for a letter to get here and 5 to 7 weeks for a package. Fed Ex may deliver in Mexico City and a few touristy cities, but there is no FedEX here! If you send it FedEx from the states, that will speed it up from your house to the border, but NOT MUCH DIFF. AFTER IT CROSSES THE BORDER. My daughter sent me a pkg by U.S. Mail priority service and it got here in 3 weeks. The post office in the states told her it would be 3 to 5 days...but they have never been to Mexico! So a lot depends on what city it is going to. Also, is much better if your friend has a post office box at the local post office. I think U.S. mail priority would be best, and YES I believe he would get it in time unless he lives in a place more remote than I live in...and that would be very unusual! Go for it! Right away!

The mail system is not very reliable.
You can spend money sending Priority mail-international with NO
assurance that it will arrive on time or at all.

The safest and most realiable way to mail outside of the USA is via FEDEX or UPS but I prefer FEDEX. They will deliver it to the door and get signature of receiver. Send it via 2 or 3 day and you will save some money. You are charge by weight so is always best to send cards or something light or flat that will fit in envelope. If item value is more then $100 make sure you get insurance for only a few dollars and FEDEX will reimburse all value of items!

Are you sending to someone special? I am too...hopefully we are not sending to the same SMOOTH talker in Mexico City..ha,ha

Mexico City (Ciudad de México) could be the capital of Mexico and an incredible city surrounded by mighty hill ranges. To see this town you can pick the most effective alternative hotelbye . The city's area is unquestionably breathtaking. Two superb snow-covered volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, tower over it using their more of 5,000 meters. Mexico City also keeps numerous reminders of its past and these are things that attract the tourists. The whipping heart of Mexico City is Zócalo - the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) - where in actuality the country's first structure was proclaimed in 1813 and now is one of the very most visited host to Mexico City since it's one of the world's largest squares. In Mexico City you can also visit: the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor.

You can pay (if you can afford it) UPS, FedEX or DHL express service which will arrive into Mexico in just 1 or 2 days.
