The Navy Jack (colloquially called the "Rebel Flag")

What is usually called "The Confederate Flag" or "The Confederate Battle Flag" (actually the Navy Jack as explained above) is still a widely recognized symbol. The display of the flag is a controversial and very emotional issue, generally because of disagreement over exactly what it symbolizes. To many in the US South it is a symbol of their heritage and pride in their ancestors who held out during years of war under terrible odds and sacrifice. Others see it as a symbol of the institution of slavery

Honey, you don't live in the south, do ya?
The flag on the General Lee is a Confederate Flag, used by the southern states before & during the civil war.
Blacks are offended by this flag STILL today because they THINK it represents slavery and that white folks want to bring slavery back....this is untrue...
the reason us southerners like the confederate flag, also known as the rebel flag is because it is simply a southern symbol. (Some could also say it is a redneck symbol.)

It was the confederate flag. The Navy Jack (colloquially called the "Rebel Flag"). It is the flag of the South. It has been associated with those who believe that African-Americans should still be slaves. So even though some of us see it has a flag from the history books. Others see it as a racial slur.

it's called a rebel flag..or a confederate flag. It was used by the south during the Civil War. It has become politically incorrect nowadays because groups like the KKK have been using it for there misguided intentions. Hope that helps.....

its a confederate flag. when southern america suceeded from the north, this was the flag flown in rebelion.

it was also the side that favored slavery, so if african americans get offended, its because the south at the time of the confederate flag, was built on the blood and sweat of slaves

It's the Confederate flag used by the south when they seceded during the Civil War. They were upset because, to them, it represents black slavery.
