It seems like by the time your body would react you would be dead...
What do you think.

I don't think you feel anything. Have you ever cut yourself really bad, for the first 10 seconds you feel nothing because the nerves in the area have been damaged and aren't transmitting any signals, then the pain starts to creep in as the surrounding nerves react. It's probably the same thing, jumping from a hight would cause so much nerve damage that by the time any functioning nerves react you are dead.

I'm sure you'd feel the pain when you hit the ground/bottom and fear on the way down.

....

Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco--its alarming history of attracting suicide jumpers. It presents several facts, profiles a few jumpers, including some rare survivors, and touches on the bridge's history, all in a matter of fact tone. Unquestionably, the author advocates for the erecting of a suicide barrier along the walkway on the bridge.

He notes that since its completion in 1937, more than 1200 persons are known to have killed themselves by jumping off the bridge 220 feet above the bay. Today, on average, someone jumps off about once every two weeks. It takes 4 seconds to hit the water, at about 75 miles per hour, with a force of 15,000 pounds per square inch. In short, hitting water at that speed is little different from hitting concrete. Only 26 persons are known to have survived the jump. Most suffer such severe internal injuries that they die immediately or within minutes. Some drown, as hitting feet first will usually plunge them so deeply into the 350 foot deep water that they haven't the chance to surface before drowning

Personally I have never found the need to think about that. But if you must know, it depends, if you jump out of a basement window? No. But if you went to the top of a very tall building like say 40 floors up, well you would go splat. But I dont know what the body feels or if your brain is still functioning in a spiritual way and makes you think you are suffering. You know you should ask someone how it feels, someone who has had a terrible accident and a near death experience and see what they say.

Depends how high is the jump, what you land on, and how you land.

10 floors, hard surface, head-first hit = instant blackness;
30 feet, land on your legs into a lawn = endless agony of broken legs

Oh, and unless you're over 40 years old, things will change after a while, and you will think "how stupid I was back then"

Im assuming that the mind would react much sooner than the body would and that is what would mostly strick me!
It would be great shock if I regreted it on my "way down".

You're gonna feel the smack of death, no matter what. Do you think you would just pass out from the rush of air? Have you ever ridden a roller coaster? The smack is what you feel....if you aren't high.....THEN COMES THE JUDGEMENT! But that's a Christian point of view. Make sure you explore all options before you jump from anthing. Please.......

I don't know. I wouldn't want to put it to the test.

I believe death would come very quickly and there would be little pain if any and that only momentarily, but I can't imagine ever killing myself.

Good heavens. We're all going to die. Why rush things?

I think that you'll feel the pain for a moment... before your brain actually goes out. Hmm... this is a good question.

Perhaps just for a split-second. But I don't think you'll feel too much in that time.

In mostly cases people are dead before they reach on ground.
