of deceit or fraud
2 : to influence or lead by deceit, trick, or
artifice

Yes cheating is lying. Depends on what you mean also....like cheating on a boyfriend/girlfriend or cheating in a game....they both are a form of lying...

Yes, it is all part of the deception. However, deception is just one of many methods to gain a favorable result. Does an octopus change its colors to hide? Does an opossum play dead? There are many deceptive tricks that animals also use in order to mate, yet we don't consider it anything other than natural. The laws of nature are compelling, thus if we consider deception as natural, yet society judges liars and cheaters to be bad? I would argue that we've allowed ourselves to be persuaded against our nature at the hands of those who seek power over the sheep, while those same powerful few are themselves the worst, or best of the lot. They make the rules with no intention of ever abiding by them. Let us ask Ted Haggard his opinion on the matter. No matter how distasteful, in the end it is survival of the fittest where deception and manipulation is part of the game. It is up to each of us to be wary and savvy. Buyer beware.

it depends on whether they admit they cheated or not. normally people dont tell u cuz they dont want u to kno, which is the same reason why ppl lie in the 1st place. if they tell u they cheated then its not really a lie cuz they didnt keep it from u. the only reason it would be considered a lie though even if they told u would be if they promised they would neva cheat in the beginning of the relationship.

when a guy I know was talking on the internet telling a woman he loved her...he kept it from his live in girlfriend. He was also telling his girlfriend he loved her too. So yes, flirting and having a personal relationship with another woman via the net is cheating and lying and it hurt the girlfriend he lived with when she found out.

I think lying is a form of cheating actually...they are both sides to one coin because they both mean you give false information or impressions to delude another person.

If you are cheating and keeping it from your b/f or g/f then you are being deceitful. You are putting up a false front. It would be lying.

Yes. It's because you are doing bad things and not telling the truth, so you're lying.
