For any material selection for process piping the following are some of the common criteria:

Metal or Non-metal
Temperature
Pressure
Service life
Cost, availablity in size, shape, schedule or thickness etc.

Check some corrosion rating tables - most are supplied by either materail or pipe suppliers.

Duplex SS or SS416L: Stainless steel not affected by salt water that much. TITANIUM too expensive. Aluminum to reactive!

i could think of that the main subject could be to ward off corrosion of the pipes via the salt in seawater. I have not have been given any theory what pipes you may use. Seawater does no longer circulate during the reactor. it could purely be used to hold waste warmth remote from the condenser in the steam turbine.
