The higher price is worth paying for some items. Lipstick because they're highly pigmented and you can use less product and it will last longer and give you a better result. More expensive foundations usually are better quality in color, pigment, etc. Same with eye shadows, although those and blushes are fine to buy in cheaper brands as well. In my experience you can spend less money on : mascaras, lipliner pencils and eye pencils, (most lipliners are made in the same factories because there are only a few in the world) and some lipglosses. People with sensitive skin sometimes (surprise) have problems with mineral cosmetics because they are made with natural ingredients including mica, which is a known common skin irritant. Expensive nail polish is never worth more in my experience.

FRANKLY NO! In the early years, cosmetics like ELIZABETH ARDEN, YARDLEY & few more were the top brands & was made in FRANCE & UK. These companies were so reasonable & proved to be genuine & good to the last drop. Price was so reasonable for this part of the globe compared to this present day where the mark up it just too high & goods not up to the mark in some cosmetic brands. Try not to buy "over priced" cosmetics & save your $$$ for better use at low cost...You can have a lovely complexion just using home made products. A home made scrub could be from coarse sugar & cost u hardly 20 - 30 cents & can last a week to finish. Egg whites for a mask. CUCUMBER sliced can be a good & refreshing theraphy for tired eyes.

if your into brand names than yes they are worth the higher price, but if your into bargains, texture, colour, etc, go for Revlon, Cover-girl, and other products that are less expensive yet do the exact same thing. After all Estee Lauder, Clinique and all those other expensive brands along with less expensive brands have a life span and they along with your money will end up in the bin... spend wisely and don't get sucked in by advertising or brand names. good luck.

I think it's a personal preference. I find all I need at Target and with a good cleaning regimen and drinking lots of water your skin will look healthy no matter what you put on it.
Plus....spending less money on the inexpensive stuff allows you to build a much better collection of make-up. I am a beauty product junkie. No way am I spending my hard earned money on a few items when I can get way more for a lot less.

You should go with the products your mom's friend sells - Arbonne. They are vegan, no animal products or animal by-products. They also do not test on animals. The products also do not contain mineral oil - there are much better ingredients for your skin than mineral oil. They have a great makeup line, see if your mom's friend will give you a makeover so you can try out their makeup. I love their mineral powder, eye shadows, eyeliner, and mascara.

It depends on how you look at it. I'm willing to pay the higher prices because I have found that especially with foundations and powders, my skin is less likely to break out, the color match is often much better, and it stays on better.
With MAC, you practically need paint thinner to get it off your eyes, so it really stays with you through the long haul. The occasional funky colors, or glitter stuff I'll buy cheap at Target, but I personally prefer to spend the extra money because I think it's worth it.

Its a good question cuz I have tried other makeup and I always come back to Lancome. For me it is worth the money. I really would like to find a cheaper makeup but you really can't beat the quality of Lancome (in my opinion) and it just lasts forever!

Yes and No, its a personal thing. My make up bag has expensive brands and cheap brands, i just choose what l think looks best. Personally i think your money is best invested in good Exfoliating cream, and good cleanser, toner and moisturizer. I swear by Body Shop products.

Having said that let me tell you what my dermatologist told me...the cheapest makeup is no different than the most expensive except for the scent...

Yes they are, but it depends on how many time syou put on makeup. its obviously that if they are higher price than the quality is better...so if you put makeup on daily then go ahead and buy the higherprice/better quality ones.
