Associates- takes 1-2 years, some include the LPN nursing degree, lab tech, surgery assistant, computer tech, EMT, childcare. These degrees usually land low to middle paying jobs.
Bachelors- 3-5 years, you can get a bachelors degree in almost anything. There are several that pay well, and most of them pay median to upper median salaries.
Master's- 1-2 yrs. after bachelor's, usually result in high paying jobs, for example, nurse practitioner or PA, college instructor in your field, researcher, etc.
Doctorate-3-4 yrs after bachelor's degree, these degrees pay high salaries.

The basic degrees (in order from least number of years to most) are Certificate, Associates, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate. From there, each can be fine tuned for a major, for example a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management. To see the different majors, look at various college websites.

a bachelors degree is usually a 4 year program.
after getting your bachelors degree you have several options. there's the masters degree, a doctoral degree (PhD), MD (medicine), JD (law), DDS (dentistry), and others.
