There is nothing wrong with providing a child with a good life & a good home with good parents, no matter what color they are. It's easy to be that shallow-minded when you haven't been in that situation.

In an ideal world a child's race wouldn't matter and any child could be raised with any family, but unfortunately that's not reality. An African American child might not feel comfortable or happy growing up in a non African American family, but then again they might not know the difference if they never knew anything different. What I do think is important is teaching the child about the culture and history of African Americans so they're aware and proud of their heritage. If they're adopted into a family of another race measures should be taken to ensure that the child has African American friends/mentors at all times that they can speak with, bond with, etc, in addition to their regular family. It's very important that the child not feel the need to change themselves in order to "fit in" to the existing family structure.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed:

Even the African American/Negroe/Black community doesn't want to make that dream possible.

Shame on them.

Kids are kids. They should live a more fullfilling life than just wondering if they will ever be adopted, put in a home with a family, and most importantly belong somewhere in society.

I am going to guess that most of the people who tell you it's wrong are blacks who feel that the child is missing out on some mystical "black experience". If that is the case just look at the crime stats broken down by race and tell them that if that's the result of black parenting then you are helping that child to get all she can in life..(not that all blacks are criminals but there is a giant gap in the amount of crime committed by a minority and that of whites that's a fact its not racist, same with dropout rates etc. If they are white people telling you that they're a bunch of racist idiots, and who needs them.

Well I am off to create another yahoo ID before I get in trouble for speaking candidly and openly about race. Which is the only way to make things better.

i'm caucasian have have 2 biracial children. (their bio mom became white/hispanic and dad became AA) even as adopting them I did see a biracial granny adopting a caucasian 4 12 months previous female. I did imagine it became extraordinary, as there are such fairly some extra caucasian father and mother waiting for youthful white children. then I felt responsible for feeling this way. This became the lady that raised her in view that she became a toddler and she or he became bonded. i imagine it truly is the biggest element. no longer everyone assumes the children are followed, which may be nicer. some assume that there became a previous courting and the children are products of this. it really is problematical because my females are 5 mo aside and one is biracial and the different is caucasian and they ought to imagine hubby knocked up a black female even as i became pregnant and then we took her toddler away. My darkish skinned daughter receives the most questions from different youngsters even as they see her light sister. although my son who's likewise darker by no ability receives wondered. i imagine you would possibly want to guage the area that you stay, your spouse and youngsters values, values and the cost of your friends that remember. you want to make sensible that those children are dealt with properly and correctly-known by the community. you want to make sensible the attitudes are accepting of a distinct lifestyle. you even might want to locate help interior the different lifestyle...in the adventure that they are chinese youngsters you desire a chinese human being, in the adventure that they are guatamalan or AA you want that too. the actuality is, in various of states their are extra black children then their are black households that pick to undertake. a house with another races is extra useful than waiting for something else of your formative years in foster look after the right colour make sure. reliable luck to you!!!

Absolutely yes! If you are deemed fit to adopt you should not be limitted by the color of your skin. It is racist to discriminate in such a way.

If she were purple, would you love her any less? Those people telling you that it is wrong, need to get a life or at least an education.

It's not just ok - it's beautiful!!!

I get so happy when I see interracial families... it's a sign of progress.

One day, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability and age will all be as irrelevant as the color of shirt you have on.... I can't wait.
