The 2006 Commonwealth Games men's hockey competition was held in Melbourne from March 17 to March 24. 10 countries took part, and India finished 6th in the competition, ahead only of Trinidad & Tobago, Scotland, Canada and South Africa.
Under K. P. S. Gill, NINE coaches have been hired and then fired for poor performance. Never once has Gill or his sidekick Jyothikumaran taken moral responsibility and resigned from their posts.
In 2005, India finished 5th out of 7 teams in the Azlan Shah Cup in Malaysia, 7th out of 8 teams in the Rabobank Mini World Cup, and 6th and LAST in the Champions Trophy in Chennai.
When will we see the likes of Munshi, Gill and sundry being sacked for not performing THEIR duties? When will our sports be freed from their vice-like grips?
The powerful sports administrators are, however, just a part of the bigger problem. Indian sport will not start breathing with life and energy until the government steps in, streamlines the system and brings accountability into the frame. It's only then that the parents will encourage their kids to play games and the corporates will pump in their money.
Until then, these officials will keep ruling and ruining our beautiful sports which was once the pride of India.
Let's not expect anything in DOHA, maybe some DUA'A will help.

Congrats to all the communities that gained on the instant. It would desire to have been assorted complicated artwork and decision. Pakistan's hockey team has been suffering interior the final couple of years. They suffered even worse than West Indies' decline of variety. Now, the cricket has been very disappointing. i understand they weren't the completed potential communities, regardless of the undeniable fact that it remains embarrassing losses for the two Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

I thought your national sport is cricket? Whatever, who else are in these games? It's a little obscure on the other side of the Pacific so we don't really know your team's chances until we see who they're up against.
